The first two characters, I and P, stands for Ingress Protection. The first number indicates the level of protection against dust, the higher number, the better dustproof. |

IP rating is a standard for various more critical applications, the higher rating indicates the better protection against dust particles cause fan stuck, unexpected corrosion and high humidity. In other words, the fan rotates much longer life span even under the water & dust environment than normal fan does. We have injections to isolate the water and dust depends on IP rating, and clinets’ application, to have the electrical devide work properly.
