Model Suggestion
Q: Can you recommend me
your best model ?
A: The answer could be various
depends on your preference .
First , pick one type listed below that describes you the
most . :
Type A : The best cooling performance is the most important
to me
Type B : Silent fan is the most important to me
Type C : Outstanding performance with pleasant fan noise
level
Type D : Good performance but price is also an important
concern
For type A people , you have to pick the full copper heatsink
with higher speed fan. For example , CAK4-86 .
For type B people , the first thing you need to check is
fan speed . In most cases , only low speed fan can provide
you silence ; one thing important to point out , low speed
fan is normally limited in fulfilling good cooling performance
. Fortunately , Global WIN is still able to find you the
best solution , try our CBKII-58 or TAK58 . You surely will
be very happy with the silence and performance they provide..
For type C people , a fan with temperature sensor should
fit you more , fan speed adjusts according to the CPU temperature
, when CPU is stressed hardly , your fan auto-adjusts to
higher fan speed to cool CPU efficiently ; when CPU is less
stressed , fan speed auto-adjusts back to lower speed ,
so that you won’t be bothered by the fan noise . Our
CAK4-88T is the best choice for you .
For type D people , aluminum cooler is always cheaper than
copper one , higher fan speed is also what you should go
after for better performance . FSP82 is the right model
to consider .

Mainboard compatibility
Q : How do I know if your
model is compatible with my mainboard ?
A : Since all our coolers are designed
in the right size to fit in the mainboard , the only thing
you have to do is to pick the right Global WIN cooler that
supports your CPU model ( P4 , K7 or K8 ) . If you want
to be more sure , try to buy the mainboard and the cooler
at the same shop , let them finish the installation for
you .

Noisy fan
Q : My fan is too noisy ,
what should I do ?
A : There are many ways to solve this problem , such
as using fan adaptor to change to a bigger size fan , re-set
the fan operating voltage to control the fan speed or just
replace the origin fan with the same size one but lower speed
. However ,you need to be very sure that the new fan you put
has enough air flow to cool your CPU or it will be all in
vain. |

Fan plug adaptor
Q : There is a two in one
fan adaptor comes with my Global WIN cooler , should I plug
both ?
A : Yes , please plug the big one ( 4 pin ) to the
power supply in the case to get the power for the fan, then
plug the small one ( 3 pin ) to the fan header on the mainboard
to get fan speeding reading .
If the instruction manual you got is the old version one that
suggests you avoiding to plug 3 pin plug to the fan header
on the m/b , you can ignore it and just follow our above instruction
. |

Thermal Pad
Q : What’s the gray
pad under the heatsink ? Should I remove it ? How does it
work ?
A : That’s thermal pad , Global WIN model no.
GW103 . It helps to transfer the heat from CPU core to heatsink
more efficiently . No need to remove it away , just take away
the protective paper and then you can install it directly
|
|
Q : When I unpack my cooler box , the protective paper cover on the thermal pad was peeled off , does it matter ?
A : It is not a critical problem if your thermal pad
is still in a good shape . |
|
Q : Should I change the thermal
pad to thermal grease ? I heard the thermal grease is better
than thermal pad .
A : Thermal grease is not always necessary better than
thermal pad , it’s all about the quality thing . The
gray thermal pad (Global WIN model no.: GW103) we enclose
with our cooler is the top quality thermal pad , which is
the equivalent of some top quality thermal grease , such as
Artic Silver . So we recommend you to remain our thermal pad
as how is comes like . After all , Global WIN provides you
“ Total thermal solution “ , even just a small
part of the cooler , Global WIN still insists in providing
you the best . |
|
Q : I want to upgrade my
CPU , can you tell me how to remove the thermal pad for me
to use your cooler again ?
A :
(1) Please use a small plastic stick to scrape off the remain
thermal pad on the back of heatsink and CPU ( avoid using
metal or sharp one to be free from scratching on the heatsink)
(2) Using CLEANING NAPHTHA to remove the remaining that can’t
be cleaned by no. (1)
(3) When it's all clean and dry on the back of the heatsink
and CPU, you can then apply the thermal grease you have . |
|
Fan blow or suck
Q : A fan is supposed to
blow cool air in or suck heat out ? Which one is more effective
in heat dissipation ?
A : Both are applied nowadays . Either way can provide
good performance, depends on heatsink design . |
|
After ¡V Sales service
Q : I broke the clip , what
should I do ?
A : Please write us back , we will send the replacement
out in 48 hours . |
|
Q : Where can I find the
installation guide ?
A : There is always an instruction manual coming with
your cooler . With some old slot A/1 models , the installation
guide is printed inside the box , you can find it when you
unpack the box .
If you are not clear about what to do after reading the manual
, please do not hesitate to write us back . |
